“Aloha Honu”

I painted this awesome turtle from a photo I took while snorkeling at Hen and Chickens coral reef in the Upper Florida Keys. Glenn, my husband, and I do all the underwater photos you will see on our site. This, however, is my painting. Glenn and I also do all the paintings on the website. We take the original painting I did and then digitize it. We then produce and print the ceramic tile right here at our gallery in Islamorada. The turtle on ceramic tile we printed is then placed in our amazing lobster trap frames.

The frame we used for the turtle on ceramic tile is an actual lid from a lobster trap. We cut the lid in half and add window box around the ceramic tile, glue in the turtle on tile, place a hanger on the back ready to put in your home or office. These lobster trap frames are truly a piece of the Florida Keys!

The process we use to produce and print the turtle on ceramic tile is called dye sublimation. We use the best inks and printers to give you the highest quality tile on the market today. The colors are extremely vivid and bright.

The turtle on ceramic tile is a 6″ x 6″ and then placed in our lobster trap frame. We put an authentic lobster or stone crab tag on the face of the frame. Frames will vary in appearance but will be similar to the one pictured. Tag color will vary based on availability.
